  1. RGB cameras, visible light bands (384∼769 THz)
    1. capture rich color and detailed information. poor position accuracy.
    2. Limitation: low light, adverse weather
  2. Infrared cameras, infrared bands (300 Ghz ∼400 THz), λ between 1 mm and 780 nm
    1. work for dark environment, but loss edge info
    2. affected by weather
  3. Lidars, infrared bands (361∼331 THz),
    1. high accuracy, minimally affected by changes in ambient light, such as low light
    2. poor penetration, easily affected by dense fog, rain and snow.
  4. Millimeter-wave radar, radio bands (24∼94~300 GHz), λ between 1 cm and 1mm
    1. general recognition ability, strong penetrating ability, and is not easily affected by light and weather;
    2. The maximum distance of millimeter-wave radar is 1 km, while lidar is only 300 meters.
  5. 5G: 1 GHz - 6 GHz, is considered perfect for 5G because it can carry plenty of data while traveling significant distances.
